The deceased is brought into our care, after receiving the appropriate permissions the body will be embalmed and prepared for viewing. A meeting with one of our licensed professionals will establish a time, date and location for Memorial Visitation and Funeral Service. This package includes all staff, facility and vehicle charges necessary for the arrangements, visitation and service. Casket and disbursements are among charges that are not included.
Funeral Home Services Included:
Professional consultation with licensed personnel, which may include but is not limited to, expert advice on options to meet your needs, including essential services relating to disposition, drafting notices, planning scheduling of services, advising regarding possible government benefits. A Basic professional fee is payable whenever we provide services to you.
Basic Professional Fees
Co-ordination of all rites and ceremonies, before, during and after they have been provided, including services and supplies provided by us, as well as those provided by third party suppliers, such as flowers and death notices.
Co-ordinating Rites and Ceremonies
Completion and filing of all documents necessary to carry out the services and suppliers requested, including but not limited to, death registration, burial permit, coroner's certificate for cremation, documentation necessary to ship the body out of the country. As part of this service, we will provide you with 10 proof of death certificates; such certificates are usually accepted for most estate settlement purposes, but sometimes a provincial Death Certificate will be necessary and is available from the Office of Registrar General.
Documentation - Permits, Forms, etc.
Transportation of the remains from one place to another, for example the hospital to our premises, or form our premises to the cemetery or crematorium using a transfer vehicle, for distances not exceeding 25km. ($2.00 per kilometre surcharge beyond initial 25km). A charge applies for each transportation request.

The preparation of the body for placement into the basket, including bathing, dressing and the setting of facial features for identification or viewing without embalming.

Embalming is the process of replacing blood and bodily fluids with chemical preservatives. It is a process of sanitation, restoration and temporary preservation. Embalming is not legally required, but may be recommended to preserve the body between the time of death and the visitation or disposition of the deceased. Our professional funeral directors will make a recommendation based on the condition of the body and expected service needs.
Embalming of Remains
• Staff to coordinate and oversee the off-site visitation (informal gathering) for a period of up to 4 hours including travel and set up time. • If any equipment from Armstrong Funeral Home is needed for an off-site visitation an equipment charge will apply (see below). • A general purpose vehicle charge of $275.00 will also be charged for travel within a 25km radius of Armstrong Funeral Home. An additional charge of $2.25 per kilometre beyond the initial 25km radius will apply.

• Staff to coordinate and oversee the ceremony or memorial at our premises for a period of up to 2 hours. • An additional staff service charge will apply if extra ceremony time is requested. It will be charged at an hourly rate of $227.50. (Requires facilities for ceremony)

Use of our general and common areas including, but not limited to, parking lot, washrooms, cloakrooms, heating, lighting and maintenance. This charge applies whenever we provide services to you.

On the date of the service, the deceased will be transported to the grave in our funeral coach, a service will occur at the grave. This package includes all staff, facility and vehicle charges necessary for the arrangements, and Graveside Service. Casket and disbursements are among charges that are not included.

When cremation is complete the deceased remains will be returned to the funeral home and returned to the family. This package includes all staff, facility and vehicle charges necessary for the arrangements and cremation. Cremation container, cremation fee and disbursements are among charges that are not included.

This is a fee charged by the coroner for issuing a certificate that allows cremation to take place. The fee is set by the Chief Coroner for Ontario.

This is an amount paid to the clergy for their services. In most cases the amount is set by the clergy, in others it is an amount to be determined by you. Amounts given over and above an established honorarium are at the discretion of the family.

This is a fee charged by the local municipality to register the death. The fee is set by the municipality and may vary
